Kate Vikstrom's Grown~Up Lullabies

My friend Molly, (who being the cool AK Girl that she is, posed in boots and bridal SLUGS for us here,) has one talented Mama. Kate is one of those people that just oozes with talent and creativity! Her watercolors stop me in my tracks everytime I see one, and that is just one of many ways she expresses herself through art.

*Here is another gem I snagged from Rhonda Bolling Photography.*

At Molly's bridal shower, Kate mentioned she had just finished a cd. Knowing her tremendous singing talent, I had to look up her website as soon as I could.

The jazzy songs are captivating and the dreamy theme of lullabies for grown ups is wonderful and unexpected!
You can preview her songs, and purchase her beautiful cd here:
Isn't it wonderful?

Vintage Video Stars. . .

Rayana and I went for a walk the other night and couldn't resist making some silly videos with the "Vintage Maker" iphone app! You can convert any of your videos into vintage masterpieces with shaky screens and musical accompaniment. I can't wait to use it for videos with the boys!

The daisy will tell you. . .

Rayana nailing the Charleston!

That's all for now Folks! *Kiss*

What is your favorite iphone app?

Would you say I DO in your XtraTufs??

We were so excited that our childhood friend Molly and her new husband Matt decided to return to Ketchikan for their wedding! Molly asked us, ThoseAlaskanGirls, to make gift bags for her 37 out of town guests, Alaskan style of course. We accepted the job after she agreed to let us sneak in on the wedding photo shoot, and take a few pix of our own! :) Thank you to Molly for being such a beautiful, beaming bride...

The first three gorgeous photos are the work of our talented photographer and friend, Rhonda Bolling. I have also mentioned her before here. Thank you Rhonda for being such an amazing photographer, being so flexible and relaxed to let us jump in for a bit, and for generously sharing your photos with us! :)

Molly's Maid of Honor, Erin, is also a good friend of ours, and another true Alaskan Girl! *Erin wore Xtra Tufs to my wedding...Now I will have to go dig up that photo!* (If you check our website profile, you will find both Molly and Erin in the credits.)

Bridesmaids need SLUGS too!

The Bridal SLUGS were a hit, as you can see! :) Notice the extra stitch detail in a beautiful leaf pattern!

Aren't they almost as lovely as the bride ?? :)

Congratulations to

Molly & Matt!

And here are some inspiration pictures from our fans...

Would you dress your kids up like YARD JUNK??

Ketchikan is a great place to spend the 4th of July! For this year's kiddie parade, we had a woodland garden theme, (in red, white, and blue). The group consisted of two fairies, four garden gnomes, and one caterpillar. The kids had a blast!

Quote of the day:

My dad, "Are they Santa Clauses? Oh....Gnomes.... huh...Like yard junk?)

I crocheted the red hats in a triple crochet because we put the outfits together two days before the parade! They worked up really fast with the thick red yarn and large stitch. I crocheted the beards with a really fuzzy yarn and a thick and soft white yarn, and used elastic to attach to the hats.

Did you notice how well XTRATUFS fit into the Garden Gnome costumes? :)

The kids also made the front page of our local newspaper! (Photo Courtesy of Tom Miller, Ketchikan Daily News)
